The benchmark of brutal, untold, hilarious new theatre

“Let’s get home, the sky's beginning to bruise.

Night must fall and we shall be forced to camp.”

Bruised Sky Productions was founded in 2009 by director James Kermack and writer and Artistic Director Martin Murphy. Never afraid to tackle a controversial subject matter, our artistic policy at Bruised Sky is to produce brave and dynamic writing. Always finding the untold stories, we produce hard-hitting theatre that gets our audience listening, thinking and talking. Our goal is to incite debate, to inform, educate and entertain.

Constantly expanding our pool of artistic collaborators, we work with like-minded venues and have recently worked with Soho Theatre, Underbelly, Pleasance & VAULT Festival. We start conversations with audiences, this understanding and audience dialogue helps our work to remain truthful, with audiences responding to this honesty via our social media channels.

Recent focus has been one-woman shows, productions produced to critical acclaim have included Villain (Soho Theatre, Underbelly Edinburgh 2016, Kings Head) and Victim, (Old Red Lion, Pleasance Edinburgh 2017, Soho Theatre 2018.)

We work in association with writers and performers we believe in, with stories worth telling. Naomi Sheldon's Good Girl is the latest of these collaborations; winning awards at the 2017 Fringe leading to a West End transfer  in 2018. We also recently produced a rehearsed reading of David Scinto's new play Batman and The Queen at Park Theatre.

Murphy's Villain and Victim are both published by Bloomsbury Methuen Drama.
